Introduction

Hello, my name is Linda March.  I am a wellness and safety advocate. I am married and have children. My husband and I have a successful and strong bond. Before raising my children, I was an executive secretary. I'm fortunate to have wonderful parents and family. I've had wonderful moments in my life. Although, I have had to struggle with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) since my mid-twenties. Unfortunately, I have been a victim of abuse (physical and mental) in the behavioral mental health field. People are stressed out in those jobs and may not give the best care to their patients at times, but I feel that there are also cruel people that have a goal of keeping you in the system for their career and monetary gains. The man who I first encountered back in 1988 disabled me since I left there. He died a few years after I was his patient. Maybe his cruelty finally took a toll on his spirit. My nightmares don't go away. I wake up screaming at times and then have to run......that's how I feel. I actually do run out of bed and go to my main living area to exercise, dance to music or clean. Sometimes, though, I'm half awake and so scared I go out of the house, or for a drive to calm down. This is a big worry on my wonderful family. Unfortunately, he wasn't my only nightmare in this field. I went in with PTSD and developed more from my hospital stays. I feel that people in this practice need constant help for themselves so that they can positively help people suffering and get on a better path to wellness.

Wellness & Holistic Doctor Recommendations

My journey has led me to meet some wonderful holistic caretakes and wellness advocates. I'll have more details in "My Story" about these folks, but here's their info for quick connection to them if interested.

I met Linda Memmesheimer from Think Wholistic.  www.thinkwholistic.org   right after that brave act of letting go of what I knew as my main care.  Linda was so inspiring on the knowledge she has gained on her own journey to better health after battling breast cancer.  She refused to accept the one-size-fit-all-standard-care that is prevalent in traditional cancer treatments. Read Linda's story on the website above. She is an inspiration with a wealth of knowledge and references for healing and well-being. Linda's website has several connections to whole health healing.

I met Dr. Theresa Peter of Health Up Institute,  www.healthupinstitute.com   attending her Iodine Protocol talk.  Dr. Peter is a chiropractor and also a chemist and will blow your mind with her intelligence. I often refer to her website and Facebook posts. She turned her career as a Research Scientist into a Holistic Chiropractic Physician and healed herself. Now helping many, many others with medical issues.

Twenty three years ago I found Dr. Eric Miller of Chiro-Med Health & Wellness Center in Orland Park, IL     www.OrlandParkChiropractor.net    Dr. Miller has kept me in check many times providing me with his chiropractic care. They also specialize in injury care, whether you were hurt in an auto accident, fell during a game, or have a herniated disc by lifting something improperly.  They offer several treatments to assist, including acupuncture, physical therapy, spinal decompression, and chiropractic adjustments.

I researched online and found Ann Rigby, MSW, LCSW, BCN, and Director of The Neuroconnection in Naperville, IL  www.theneuroconnection.com   Ann Rigby from The Neuroconnection does advanced neurofeedback. She used to do traditional neurofeedback which many currently still do with success. She has a neurologist on staff. She is the expert that gets called upon by other professionals including The Amen Clinic.  She is a social worker first and has much knowledge about mental/behavioral illnesses. Who else can benefit.......Addictions, ADHD, Anxiety, Autism, Brain Injury, Chronic Fatigue, Learning Disabilities, Memory, Mood Disorders, OCD, PTSD, and more. She has been successful with folks with schizophrenia also. Be encouraged to seek her out if the traditional method didn’t get you to your optimal health.

I more recently met Dr. Marta Vlach, PhD, ND, BCND of  Holistic Health Family Center in Oak Brook Terrace, IL  www.myhhfc.com  Dr. Vlach is a board certified Naturopathic Doctor and Holistic Therapist. She has a Master degree in Psychology and is a certified clinical herbalist and has created her own line of organic tinctures and restorative tea blends. She also has extensive training in ozone therapy and chelation therapy. She is very passionate in helping her patients find balanced health in their lives. Visit her website as there is so much information in regards to her services and expertise.

In helping myself, I found a psychiatrist named Judith Orloff online who helps people like me—oversensitive/empaths.  Her website enlightened me and gave me so much healing inside.  I signed up for her newsletter. She understands why the mind-altering meds I took gave me more problems. She understands why I would stop my meds.  She doesn’t force meds on her patients. She offers webinars frequently and sells her books. Judith Orloff MD, Empath Support, Intuition, Emotions & Energy Healing,  www.drjudithorloff.com

I often refer to  www.terrytalksnutrition.com  and signed up for the newsletter. Terry Lemerond is a health pioneer and author with vast knowledge of plant medicines and how botanicals can be used in practical ways to fight disease and improve the path to healthy living. I have taken his advice on many issues for me and my family with successful results.

I gravitate towards my music, singing and dance exercising for relief from stress. I browse online to choose music for relaxing and sleep. I have referred to the Mindvalley website for health and meditation techniques. Vishen Lakhiani is a Malysian entrepreneur, author and motivation speaker of Indian descent. He is the founder and CEO of Mindvalley and an author.  www.mindvalley.com

My Story

My Health Wellness Journey: I am very passionate about sharing my journey in surviving each day while living with neurological health issues, i.e., PTSD, manic and anxiety.  I have had a wonderful life with wonderful parents and family, a wonderful husband and children.  I have had great support from my loved ones, family and friends.  I have been an upstanding citizen. I will fight for what I feel is right, good and fair.  I will not hesitate to go directly to the source(s) to try and come to a better balance.  While my children were in school, I enjoyed volunteering. I loved supporting them at their sporting events and enjoyed our memorable vacations and occasions together. In between my wonderful times though, I have suffered greatly due to poor care and non-empathetic authoritative professionals. My goal here on my blog is to make people aware of what I held in for years broke me down more. I feel if people are aware of the negative aspects in the professional care system, they can be their own advocate for seeking more balanced wellness for themselves and their family members.
